Take a cabinet door with you and hit the remnant section of the yards/fabricators in your area. You should be able to find something you like.

Also think about how much movement and colour you want. Personally, I don't like a lot of movement especially on a smaller piece. However, I also don't like a solid black/dark because it shows every little streak.

I think the lighter more neutral granite will work better in my house. And I agree that less movement would be nicer. Thanks for helping me narrow it down!

Pick out your granite first...then, if you can, take a sample of the granite and your cabinet door to pick out your tile, bringing tile samples home to see how they look in your space.

Cheap remnants or prefab that will work is how I would go. I would also see if the granite fab shop will do the sink cut out for cheap if it is needed. For prefab, it will already have the sink cut out for standard oval sinks.
