What do you think of this end table as a nightstand?

I've wanted a matched bedroom set for years. Now that we're settled in our new home I'm actually pretty ok with the collection of antique walnut pieces I've had for years. I got the iron sleigh bed so matching wouldn't be an issue. Now for nightstands. In pictures I've purposely made sure they didn't show...lol. I have an old primitive square table on my side and DH has a very polished light wood (birch maybe?) night stand that he made years ago in a woodworking class. Assuming I can get him to put it somewhere else, what do you think of this PB end table used as a nightstand in this room? I'm posting pics of summer and winter bedding both. And the little table in the corner is no longer there. Also thinking of moving the cedar chest out. What do you think of the chest as nightstand and would one on each side look ok?

Personally, I love the use of unique pieces for furnishing a room, and think that that end table would look wonderful with the style of your room. It especially looks nice with your winter bedding, and seems appropriate for use with a quilt. Nice choice!

I love that little end table, it would look great in your bedroom, perfect for a night stand.I see I'm not the only one that changes their bedding with the Seasons, I do it in Oct. for the Winter months and April for the Spring and Summer months, it's a nice change.I really like what you've done.

Cute table and I think it would be attractive and efficient assuming it is the right size (especially height).

Since the table in the corner is gone, would the cedar chest fit under the window to the left of the bed?

Cute! But is it too red?

Maybe just me... but I get a little Oriental vibe from it. Might just be the dinner I am cooking tonight though. : )

johnmari...good idea to try the chest there, I'll see how it works. The table is the perfect size and height. Many actual nightstands are too wide but this one is 24" and I can use up to about 26" so its actually perfect. Height is good too.

nanny2a, I kinda like mismatch, too, if it works together :-)

lacombe, that's my new "winter" quilt. I've never had bedding to change with the seasons but I like the idea and I'm enjoying the change.

I feel like the room is so hodge podge but I've gotten so much furniture for elsewhere in the house I'm just inclined to go with it, it works for us. Just wanted to be sure you guys don't think the table would stand out like a sore thumb. I think I like the fact it's not leggy, too, I have plenty of legs in that room.

So you think 2 would be ok? Matching lamps on them?

lol paint_chips, I wish I could see a sample of the paint too. Oriental sounds good right now, to eat, not on my nightstand. It's from the Pottery Barn Campton collection. Anybody seen this for real that can comment on the color?

Perfect choice. Horchow has some pretty pieces at great prices under their antique collection (not sure they are antiques but they look like ?antiques?).

Beautiful bedroom. I love your walnut pieces. It's one of my favorite woods. Probably most of the common woods. Common meaning "not exotic".
I would think about having wrought iron legs for the chest at the end of the bed to use as one of the night stands. If you're like me the things you store in it aren't something you need everyday, so you won't have to worry about taking things off of it constantly to get to something.
I do like the PB piece though too.
