martha stewart signature color palette paints

has anyone used the "martha stewart signature color palette" paints that sherwin williams used to carry? i really liked the color selection and i LOVED the texture of the paint. it was silkier than other paints i've used. a guy at the SW store told me they had a more european style formula. FWIW. anyway, SW no longer carries her color chips but the stores tell you that they can still make the paints if you know the code.

my questions: does anyone know if that line of paints is the same one now carried by lowes? or is that another of her lines of paint? she has at least 3 that i know of -- the ones at Kmart, and the araucana colors.... or is it sold anywhere else that you know of? also, do you know if only the colors were martha's, and the paint itself was standard sherwin williams? as i said, i really like the texture!

this is my punishment for taking so long to make decisions. the paint i finally find that i like has vanished because i didn't just go with it!

I know the Martha Signature colors from SW very well. I used a lot of them. It was a loss to SW when she pulled out. SW's palette is not the strongest out there. When the Martha contract ended in 01/07, SW rolled out Concepts in Color. Which is a reorganization of existing SW color. They pulled in some of the previously retired colors from their Interior ColorAnswers collection. Nothing really new from SW.

The SW Martha colors were mixed in SW paint base with SW colorants. It was not Martha *paint* or *color*. It was just her palette. Which is why you can still have the SW Martha Signature colors mixed if you have the color names and numbers, but the Martha color chips are no longer available and they did not roll out to another resource.

The Martha colors at Menard's, Kmart, Lowe's, etc. are all different collections of color not the SW Martha Stewart Signature Colors.

thank you so much! it's good to know the colorants and bases are the same. as i said, i love the paint "bone china",the color and the paint itself, and i was afraid i'd never be able to get it again.

I used MS Glass of Milk for my interior trim paint and love it. I will have to hold on to the formula. Thanks for bringing this up.

wonbyherwits...is there any way to share the formula for MS Glass of Milk? I wrote it down as my favorite trim color from pictures on this site as well as a local model home--now I don't think I'll be able to get it by just asking for the name. I'd appreciate anything you could share that could help me get my trim color!

I know when I went into my SW to get some MS Monarch, they had the formula down by name--didn't need my chip sheet. Oddly enough, the true formula didn't match the chip sheet very well at all, so I took the chip back in and asked them to match *it*. I like the matched color better than the original MS formula; it's got no black and has more pigments than the MS. :) It's Monarch 2.0 :)

My trim is based on SW "extra white" Semi-gloss Super Paint Architectural 20 yr warranty

    MS Glass of Milk 8002

    BAC Colorant 02 32 64 128
    Y3-Deep Gold - 1 1 1

(the second row of numbers should line up under the first row, but I can't do it without inserting a lot of html tabs)

After two years of living here, none of our stair risers have any black marks from shoes. I've never had white risers where our sons didn't beat up the paint. This is good stuff!

I have a lot of wall area covered in SW MS Bone China in the paint that's supposed to have a 20 year guarantee. Mine is eggshell because I thought it would stand up to the kind of use a farmhouse takes. It has. I'm thinking about repainting some areas in colors that make more of a statement, but the paint is in such good condition, I'm not sure whether I should. If anyone knows the formulas for MS Gingerroot and MS Bone China, I'd like to have them just for the record.

This is what my container of Bone China (8007) says on it.

    colorants: 02 32 64 128

    R4 New Red 0100
    Y1 Yellow 0101
    Y3 Deep Gold 0200

These numbers aren't lining up either. It's supposed to be 1@ 32 for the red, 1@ both 32 and 128 for the yellow, and 2@ 32 for deep gold.

You might be able to get the other one from a SW store.

Has anyone noticed the texture of the semi-gloss paint when dry? It seems different than other semi-glosses I've used. It's more silky or luxurious or something. I love it.

I know this post is VERY old, but does anybody remember Martha Stewart's Hellebore? What's weird is that the Hellebore chip I've seen is not the shade I have. My "Hellebore" is a lime green. I painted my dining room that color and I adore it. I sure wish I could have some mixed up for some touch ups, though.

You would have to repaint the whole wall instead of just a touch up if you are using a fresh can of paint. Touch up technique (usually) only works with the paint from the same can used on the wall.
