All right, it's down to these three rugs (pics)

I'm thinking about ordering all of these and just returning the ones I don't care for. We're also considering the orange one as a runner behind the couch, but would it be too much orange if we also went with the larger area rug? DH is on board, really! Yes, he even likes the orange. All rugs are wool.

Thanks!

I like the first one best!

Although a trellis pattern drives me nuts, I like the touch of orange in the room.

The one from JCP looks like it has stripes of color? Like you said, nothing beats trying it out. It might be too much or it might make the whole room.

Can't wait to see them all and compare them in the room. I think your choice will be very clear once you try them out.

I'm still a sucker for the trellis because I like its subtle pattern; I like that it's dark brown (for grounding purposes) and I like that it has the hit of orange. Me gusta mucho!

I think you like the circles best which would make it the Right Rug for your room -- whichever makes you perk up.

I also like the ombre orange but think for that space and your purposes it's not right -- as the large run under your similarly-toned coffee table (I think -- pictures can be deceiving) it just reads as too powerful.

Have fun playing with them when they arrive if you do decide to try all three!

I like the first one best too.

I'm not a fan of the brown rugs with the brown slip cover on the chair. I like the orange rug, but I would have to stain/paint the coffee table darker in order to use the orange.

I do have another coffee table I can put there that fits the style better. Just need to convince DH on that. Funny he will agree to an orange rug though. One thing at a time. Thanks for the feedback.

I really like the first one. In fact, I wish it was in my living room at this moment!

re: the orange rug--I don't think it's too much orange. I love orange. But I'm put off by the ombre shading. My current rug has a bit of that ombre color variation and the trouble is that I like the center color best, and it's what we see the least of. So, if you're going to have a coffee table, etc. on the rug, make sure you like the color of the edges as much as the center.

Orange orange orange! I had to weigh in because I just feel the room is crying out for that burst of rich bright undiluted colour. Something with a correspondingly bright orange only in pattern, not a solid, would make a nice behind the couch runner.

The trellis would be my runner up.

The first one is more neutral to tie in the different elements.
I think the orange one would make the chair on the left seem left out.
The trellis one is not a complementary pattern with the orange chair.....The trellis color may be off with your other colors too.

I must add a thank you to dianalo for doing some of the "mashups" to help me.

These are very good points about the coffee table over the orange rug. I will really have to think about that. The ombre stripes would go at a 90 degree angle to the coffee table. Here is the CL coffee table with metal legs but still a light golden top.

Right now I'm thinking that perhaps one of the brown rugs will look better with the furniture and then perhaps the orange as a runner behind the sofa? That is also our main entry, so we have to have a rug there.

Of course, here is the HGTV rug that we also like, but this rug is $500 and not wool. As shown, it's actually a black background, but it's also got brown, green, and beige. It is available with any of the colors as a background, so we could also go with brown.
