Painted bedroom blue.. what color to paint the bathroom? (PICS!)

I recently painted my bedroom blue (BM Buxton Blue, which is WAY more beautiful than the pics show). The color palette I have going on is Blue, Espresso brown, latte-ish, like so:

There is room for accent chair here, where I am hoping to introduce another color (I am thinking a yellow or orange), which will also tie in with the wall art that I will do above the night stands.

and something like this ..

There will also be a stainless steel mirror (ikea mongstad, spray painted to silver) right by the accent chair:

The room is still very much in progress, as far as the wall arts and accessorizing goes. Bedding needs to be replaced as well. But trust me it has come a long way from when I started working on it!

Now for the BAD part.. here is my attached master bathroom:

This is due for a reno, but I know we wont get to it for 2-3 years. I want to paint it up in the meantime to keep it exciting and enjoyable.

Here are the options I am thinking as far as the walls and cabinets go .. need your thoughts on these and other ideas that you might have:

a) paint the master bath walls a dark chocolate/espresso brown, leave cabinets white

b) same as option a but add white picture frame molding wainscot

c) paint the walls a latte color, paint cabinets a brown/black color

d) paint the walls a shade of pale blue, paint cabinets brown/black - not excited about this idea, i dont want to get into a blue overdose.

In addition I want to change the sconces and update the towel bars.

Please help, I am kind of stuck with how to update this bathroom!

I don't like a or b because I think it would be too dark, but I'm undecided between c and d.

Definitely c. Paint the cab a chocolate brown. Latte on the walls and blue towels similar to your bedroom color.

I definitely vote for the dark cabinets and carrying the blue into the bathroom. From the photos, it doesn't look like you have a lot of wall space, so I think blue would look great with the dark cabinets. However, if you determine that's too much blue, I would go with a fairly light latte-ish color.

I love your bedroom. It stopped me in my tracks. Very elegant. That's what my bedroom wants to be when it grows up. (((sigh)))

I would paint the cabinets an espresso chocolate brown. I have BM Bittersweet Chocolate in my MB. I also painted the PR cabinet in the same color and have Gossamer Blue in there. It goes together very well. I painted my bedroom and bathroom the same color. It's not too much at all. Love that Buxton blue. Looks wonderful.

I posted this for you under the DIY Master Bath post, but just in case you didn't see it.

sonaliagrawal, my DH just removed an 85" unframed mirror from my boys bathroom. He used two sets of Gordon brand Heavy Duty Suction Cups from Harbor Freight. DH says they were less than $10 a piece. They're designed with a hand grip and a suction cup on either side. They tighten down to the mirror with clips. Without much force, the mirror pulled from the wall and left behind 8-10 blobs of black mastic on the drywall. You then carry the mirror away holding the hand grips, so it helps to have a set regardless of the size of your mirror, so you can balance the weight of the mirror with both arms. I couldn't have removed a mirror this large - it definitely took the strength of a man to carry it away.
I used a metal scraper to get off the mastic blobs that would be visible if I remodel with two framed mirrors. They came off but took the top layer of paper from the drywall. Any blobs that will be hidden behind the new mirrors are being left as is. I spackled the torn drywall spots today, but haven't sanded them yet. If there's a better way to get off the mastic, I'd love to hear it. Hope I helped.

I vote for C. Do the walls first and then decide if you want to paint the cabinets, too. Add some blue touches with towels and such.

boysrus2: thank u for the details. After doing more research online, it seems that it is a risky thing to do coz I could end up breaking the mirror and who knows where the mirror pieces would then end up. I will have my contractor/handy man come give me a quote for this.

I do like the idea of latte colored walls with dark cabinets and then add blue with the towels and accessories. Any recommendation for a good latte color for my bathroom?

Another question.. if I do latte colored walls and BM bittersweet chocolate colored cabinets, then do you think I should still do glossy white picture frame molding wainscot?
