How long is the pool, 60 feet?

I don't think they look too long at all.

There should be 9-10 feet for lap swimming to the left.

I'm only writing again because no one in pool forum did -- I think the length looks good and true to your inspiration picture. The steps will be a good hangout spot at 18" wide, wide enough to perch on.

Thank you! Those pics look great. They started buiding the steps and I panicked that they were too long or would interfere with lap swimming.

When we moved to Ca years ago and had a pool put in, we decided to have the stairs rounded, rather the normal stairs~there were 3.

I don't have a picture, but here's the idea. Just another alternative to consider.

Thank you! I think they will work. The top step was shorter than I expected and to be honest, I dont like the bench. But everyone says to keep the bench. I'm sorry about the snow, but I bet it's pretty!

Looks super. I think most adults like benches.

I think they look good! we had 3 steps with the 2nd step extending down the long length of our pool something like yours (we did not have a rectangular pool tho) we were happy with the bench- adults used it on occasion--but teenaged kids especially loved to hang out on it. and our crazy swimming pool loving lab absolutely loved it! and I used it all the time to help me clean the deep end bottom (it was 10' deep, so alittle awkward to get to the bottom with different equipment...)

I am glad to hear that you all recommend the bench. If you sit at the bench, you can see views of the mountain. Now that it is connected to the steps and not on the far end of the pool, hopefully more people will use it.
