I believe I saw on another thread that your cabinets are Bertch. Can you share the door style and the color of the painted ones? I am going to be considering Bertch also. Any feedback on how your carpenter thinks they are built? Any problems with them on delivery and install?

While I was waiting for your pictures to load, I was thinking, "Oh, goody, goody, goody, we get to see!" I was hoping you would post a progress report!

I thought of you yesterday and your trek on Mother's Day......looks like you were successful! Your cabinets look gorgeous! The white looks soft to the touch -- it is just yummy! Your Venatino will be a wonderful compliment to those as well as your soapstone, the ovens look like workhorses, the transom is fabulous, love the hutch details!

Thanks for sharing this step and so happy for you that you are nearing completion! Will you be cooking in here before the baby arrives??

WOW...beautiful. I love the colour of your cream cabinets. I also really like that Venetino. I've seen it in person before and always thought it would make for a unique and stunning countertop.

katieob - Im excited to see our hood too! Wall color is SW Pavillion Beige. Island is Cherry with a Mocha stain.

buffalotina - Yep, they're Bertch. So far Im very happy with what I see. Stain & paint is all even, not sloppy like a lot of companies Ive seen. There are a couple drawers that may need adjusting, but thats really it. We went with the eggshell paint. Im SO glad I picked eggshell. That was a tough decision. Door style is Lexington. No problems with delivery or install. Our builder thought they were very nicely made. I was really impressed with the wainscoating, glad I paid the extra for that. The pulls and knobs are also included with Bertch. I hadnt decided on knob placement, so they arent up yet, but you can see the pulls. All of the pieces and parts were there, nothing missing.

alice - Im glad we made the trek, it really helped me feel good about the decision. It was a long day, but I survived. It should all (God willing) be done by mid June and Im due in August.

karena - Its a new build. I tried to add some character with things like the antique transom. Admittingly, Ive spent the most time planning the kitchen!

Looks just like the renderings! I love it when that happens. It's all looking so great and your doorway is beautiful. Yours is the example I always think of when someone shows an 'impossible' stock plan kitchen layout to know there can be great possibilities.
I'm so impressed with the result, especially knowing from where you started.
