I have beadboard on the ends of my island.
Cabinet maker put lots of adjustable shelves in a cabinet on the back of the island for casserole dishes and baking sheets. This setup has worked pretty good for me.
My pots fit nicely in a 36" drawer bank. Fry pans in shallow top drawer. Pots in lower two drawers. I actually have mine in a 39" drawer stack but tried them in a 36 and still had enough room. I would have to do some stacking in 30" but ymmv.
