The foyer still not done help

Hi all, well it seems years ago since I wrote about what color to paint the foyer. We bought a table that I love, and picked a paint color restrained gold. I would love if you guys could help me . We have a rug on order. It's a runner but will be endcapped so that it has a border all around like an area rug. I need suggestions for how to finish the table and the wall behind it. I find the wall an odd shape for hanging, say a mirror. The table is not centered to it, so I don't know how to procede. Maybe I don't need to put anything at all on the wall, but i need something for the table. thanks!

I do think it calls for something.. but something unusual.. not odd.. just.. well I don't know.. a plate display?

Or one of those framed initial prints for the table?

I can envision an oval mirror centered on the table, and the lamp on the opposite side to the plant.

Can we see a pic showing what is to the right of the table. If you can, scoot it down to the right. If that works, then I would do 4 related prints, two on top two on bottom and a matching lamp to the one you have now, placed on either side of the table. A low basket of trailing type greenery (small so as not to overwhelm) on the table and a small pic (4x6) in a silver frame and you're done!

is that rug a central oriental? it's really nice looking

What is to the right of the table is the end of the wall. there is about 8 inches of wall to the right, then it ends. So even if I moved the table to the right it is not centered to that wall space, and then the table is too close to the end of the wall. Plus I need the outlet to the left of the table for the lamp plug. I thought that 2 lamps of that size might be too much for the table. I had one large flower on the table which looked nice, but I thought the idea of the lamp was nice too.

Do you mean a mirror actually set on the table? are there mirrors that are meant for that? I think it sounds kind of "scary" in a knock it over by accident sort of way.

    anita55, you're off to a lovely start.

I agree that your demilune is too small to carry off a second lamp. I'd hang 2 small prints, each about the size of 1/2 your wall color sample board to the right of the lamp. You may not need anything else. Try hanging paper cut-outs on the wall to see what you think. You can always place a wonderful box on the table if you think you need something else. Maybe you can find a beautiful one with pearl inlay or marquetry to complement your runner.

BTW, I guess the shot of the stair runner is what you've ordered. It's wonderful.

I would move the lamp to the far left of the table, and hang a rectangular mirror on the right, where you have more wall space as the stairs go up.. They would balance each other off OK. In the middle of both I would opt for a larger floral arrangment or an "initial" in frame (as others have mentioned) on an easel.

Love your table. I would keep it simple. A small mirror, the lamp and a pretty low decorative vase.

I would move the lamp to the right where the wall is tallest then hang a mirror or print centered over the table, but keeping the lamp to the right. Place something lower on the left end of the table, a pretty box, bowl, etc.
