Stainless steel bar pulls - do I need real stainless?

Hi,

I was comparing some Liberty brand stainless steel bar pulls.

The 15" ones I was looking at were cheaper than these 9" ones I was looking at. I called Liberty to ask.... apparently the 9" ones were a better quality steel throughout. The 15" ones were a lower quality steel with a stainless steel finish. Both have the same 7 year warranty.

Is there any reason I should go with the more expensive solid stainless pulls? What did folks choose here, and if the lower quality, how have the pulls held up?

Any recommendations on other places to buy the pulls? I was just leaning towards Home Depot so that I can easily return if necessary.

I'd never heard of this... ended up buying my tubular pulls in stainless steel from amerockforless.com. They've arrived, but I'm not home to check them out yet.

Keep us posted on what you find out!

Some cheaper stainless will actually rust. So, you might want to get a sample and see if there will be a problem or not.

My pulls are new so I can't say anything about long term use, but the best price I found was at woodworkershdwe.net.

Peke -- thanks for that website! I assume you're getting Amerock? I compared the prices to Home Depot, and the HD prices are pretty high - so I'm wondering if the steel used is a better quality steel, like the higher priced Liberty pulls. Amerock also has a lifetime warranty for the original owner which is good. Liberty is 7 years from what the woman told me. So I am about to buy on that website as well! I'm kinda curious -- what size pulls are you getting?
