Hey gang. My latest project. $800 bathroom remodel done!

Made some more progress while my gorgeous distraction of a boyfriend was on a hunting trip. This is my main upstairs bathroom. I've been trekking downstairs to go the restroom/brush my teeth for over 6 months now and FINALLY have it functional upstairs! Still need to do the accessories and stuff to make it pretty, but I love it so far, and it was CHEAP. I gutted it down to the subfloor and rebuilt everything for just under $800. Nearly everything was clearance items, etc.

Here is the before from the previous owner, and then when it was bank-owned when I bought it; tacky and cheap, and leaking and falling apart:

And here is the after:

Vanity was a $250 clearance item, faucet was on clearance for $40 (It's actually a kitchen faucet, but shhhh, don't tell! It works perfectly for my superlarge sink), and the backsplash tiles were leftover from the flooring project. I broke and chiseled them to make a "rocky mountain" backsplash:

The mirror was just a leftover from my previous home/life, but it works!

Hope it inspires someone to shop for bargains and make them rock in your own home. :)

Oh and ignore the dates on the pics. I don't have any idea why it did that!

    Great job! (as usual)
What is the paint color that you used?

Oh. My. Goodness!!! What an improvement. I love your backsplash; it also looks as if you were creative with your flooring (the "mosaic" tiling between your larger tiles).

    Awesome job.

I'd love bigger pix and more lighting, but from what I can see, it looks fabulous (as usual)! I was laughing when I read your bf was away because after seeing his pic, I know why that is an important piece of information (hubba hubba).

As always, you have style, and by managing to do it on such a budget, that gives you even more bonus points ;) I can't wait to see your next project. If I was not married, I'd tell you to send the hunky bf my way to keep him company so that you can stay focused on renovations. Alas, I have my own dh to keep my hands full, so you are on your own (heh heh heh).

Tell us about the floor! Love it. I mean, I love the whole thing, but the floor is really different. :-)

Great job! That's one positive about a small bathroom - it can be done fairly inexpensively. Love the floor!

You rock !!! great ideas and you get it done, I've always admired that quality in you. It all looks fantastic.

No fair! We need bigger pictures so we can see the detail. That floor looks so interesting. Unbelievable for such a low cost - great job.

    Great transformation :)

Did you keep the tub? Can you share some closeups of floor and the sink/counter area?

    Enjoy!

Lovely as always. Good to hear that things are going well for you.

Is that slate tile? Was it hard to work with? We might have to redo a bath soon and I would love to do slate on the floor. it just seems to go with this house in my mind for some reason. Of course I have no idea what I would do with the shower walls though.

Oh My Reno!! Gorgeous, as usual!! Do you ever get back in the OKC area?? I have a leaky shower pan and now have reason to re-do my master bath. . .sure wish you were close enough for another "consult"!!

Hi all! Ugh, I'm SOOOO out of practice. I shrank all the pics because they showed up HUGE in the preview post. Here they are again, larger (probably too large!)

Yes, the floor is slate, and yes, it was a pain in the arse to work with, especially since I was bound and determined to use some of the glass mosaic accent pieces in some way. Glass mosaic is super uniform, super thin, and super easy to work with. Using it right next to slate which is NOT super uniform, not super thin, and NOT easy to work with was a challenge, but I LOVE how it turned out.

I can't remember the paint color, but I know it was a BM historical color, because that was the only fandeck I could find. :P

I replaced the tub as well (which was by FAR the most heinous, horrible, difficult project I've EVER done. EVER. UGH.)

But I didn't replace it with anything spectacular, just a newer, not stained and chipped version of what was there before. ::::Side note:::: Removing and re-installing a bathtub is a truly horrible undertaking, and I don't know if I'll ever do that one again. Ugh.

As far as my gorgeous distraction, here's another shot of us at a concert:

Working bathroom and a gorgeous distraction. Life is good. :)

Love you bathroom now! What a great job you did. Nice distraction too, lol.

Great job! Love the slate, and kudos for doing all that you did for the price. Enjoy the bath and the man - or the bath WITH the man!

wow, I was just looking at my guest bath yesterday (sneering at it, actually) and thinking of how we have SO MANY other projects (and so little $$$) that it will just have to wait. Your reno inspired me. Thank you!

Oh, that is a hunky dude. Honestly, he kind of looks like my hubby...that is sooooo "my type" of guy! No reno necessary!

LOVE the sink (amazing bargain) and the tiles. Just gorgeous. What an creative idea for the backsplash!

It is soo good that you are happy and doing so well. The closeups really show of your work! Well done! So, now go be distracted!

These latest pix show it as even prettier. You know you did a great job when the close ups look better than the far aways, lol.

Hooray for you and good job (on both the bathroom and the gorgeous distraction!)!!!
