Need Help with Granite Selection for my new kitchen

I'm having a really hard time selecting the granite to go with our kitchen cabinets. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

We are installing Shiloh cabinets that are a creamy white with a light grey highlight glaze:

Our floors are oak with a American Heritage stain:

As for the granites, I love the bordeauxs, but don't know if they go well with the cabinets. I do know I want to go with something with some movement since we have a large island. We looked at slabs yesterday and picked out Golden Beach, Siena Bordeaux and Netino Bordeaux. I don't know if they go well....the lighting in the warehouse wasn't all that great.

Any thoughts, suggestions etc. would be wonderful!!

Do you have pictures of the granite slabs? That would be really helpful because one granite name can have so many variations.

Also, there is a lot of variety from one slab to another. Ours was called Sienna Bordeaux, but looks very much like Typhoon Bordeaux others have posted on this forum. Some of the Bordeaux have more burgundy colors with background of cream & gray. Others have more rusty & brown tones. I recommend taking cabinet samples & floor samples (if possible) with you to the granite yard to see how the colors go. We found that some granites we would have expected to look good with our cabinet & floor tones, just looked sick next to them.

Good luck with the granite process! It can be overwhelming. I will be getting off-white cabinets and was looking like you for a granite with movement. My realtor friend steered me away from New Venetian Gold because she felt that speckles were on the way out. I wanted movement but not so so much. I narrowed it to Yellow River, White Spring (similar to Tphoon Bordeaux) and Solarus. I elminated the solarus because I worried that there was not enough contrast between the predominant background color (the color of masking tape) and the off-white cabinetry. Solarus had more clouds than movement and DH seemed to like the Yellow River best. I took the White Spring out of the running myself because of the pink/mauve colors. I remember the 80's when I had a modular sofa that it took me years to get rid of! I had seen a gorgeous bordeaux called Manhattan gold that didn't have the mauve but couldn't find enough slabs. So Yellow River it was for me. All I can say is if you have time keep going back because the places I went to (Fairfield County, CT) kept getting more slabs every week.

I also suggest taking some pics of the slabs you like with a sample cab door and posting them.

My favorite granite is Bianco Antico. It might go well with your choices. Hard to tell because the cab link you posted shows the cab more yellowish to me than I thought. If so, BA might not work depending on what the slabs look like in your area. Still, check out BA if you can.

I think Yellow River would work well with your picks. It has movement and isn't speckly. I find it to be very interesting and pretty.

    Obviously color is key.

Also consider the movement you like (or don't like) in your granite. Some have swirls, some are kind of rocky/chunky, others have waves. Some have bits of metallic colors in them. What do all the granites you gravitate toward have in common? This may help you narrow the field.

Here are a few visuals of the granites you like and a
few extras to see some other options. I think Sienna
Bordeaux would be perfect. Of course the right slab in
the right color that makes your heart sing.

Boxerpups - that one photo with the herringbone ceiling and the Gothic window mullions looks like you're walking into a cathedral or something! Can you imagine living with that? As you cross the threshhold, I can just imagine motion-activated Gregorian chants starting up.

I agree definitely a unique kitchen and may I say odd use of tile.
