transitioning paint color - one long wall

HELP ME PLEASE. I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR IDEAS FOR THIS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. I HAVE A COMMON WALL FOR MY PART OF MY KITCHEN, DINING ROOM, GREAT ROOM AND HALLWAY.(WITH A COUPLE DOORWAY OR ENTRANCES). I DON'T WANT TO PAINT ALL ROOMS SAME COLOR, BUT NEED DIFFERENT IDEAS ON HOW TO SEPARATE OR TRANSITION COLORS.I'VE HEARD, USE MOLDING TO SEPARATE, BUT THAT'S ABOUT IT. I WAS THINKING OF MAYBE SPONGING OR RAG ROLLING KITCHEN-DINING ROOM, THEN MAYBE USING ONE OF THE COLORS IN THE OTHER ROOMS, BUT STILL NOT SURE HOW TO TRANSITION IT. ANY IDEAS WOULD REALLY BE APPRECIATED.

I had a DR that over-looked the LR. I used a piece of molding to separate the two colors and it was almost un-noticeable. ;o)

Someone here once posted a great way to transition wall colors on a long common wall. She did it at a doorway. Above the door was where the color changed and she hung a wide, framed piece of artwork over the actual change line.

It looked wonderful. I wish I could recall who the person was.

An artist near us did a sort of fade out/in painting technique with two colors on a wall that looks pretty cool.

I'm looking for the same thing I've seen a couple of ideas using a simple design like stripes, blocks or s curves that's are really nice. Google transitioning wall color and you'll see them.
