OK?-door/casing dark paint color different from crown& baseboard

We are building a 1920's style farmhouse. My cabinets are a great taupey green (BM Camaflouge). Because the cabinets run from floor to ceiling, the crown and baseboards are in this color too.

I was going to paint the walls the BM Celery Salt, but it looked too muddy next to the cabinetry, so I am thinking of repainting it a Dove White to make the cabinetry and soapstone counters pop out.

But then, the trim on my creamy white doors gets lost against the white.

I remember seeing pictures of older homes where the trim was in a dark color. So, would it make sense to make JUST the doors and the door casings in a darker green (say BM dried sage) to complement the cabinets? In this case the the crown and a baseboards would be a different/lighter color than the doors and door trim.

Would that still look good? Is it too many colors--should I just paint the door the color of the cabinets? I would love to see anyones pictures of something similar.

I'm not familiar with those shades from BM. But a good friend painted her kitchen cab's an olivey green for the "frame" of the cab's. The doors themselves are black with a bit of distressing. It looks absolutely fantastic.

Her adjoining breakfast room has black table and chairs (country french looking) and her walls are an olivey green. In the kitchen, above the cab's (soffit I believe it's called?) is a green in a bit deeper shade than the cab "frames" (also the dining wall color).

Wish I had a photo to share with you. It doesn't sound great, but it is honestly so beautiful. When she first told me her plans I didn't voice my hesitancy. Sounded odd to me. LOL!

After she painted them, at our next get together with our group of girl friends, we all stood around and oohed and aahed over her kitchen. Everyone loves it! It looks gorgeous! :O)

I say if you want to do two tones, go for it. :O)

Thanks Totallyblessed. We are buidling a whole house, and I have made soo many mistakes. My painter thinks I am looney (and I feel I am getting that way!)

I was looking for pictures on google and saw that may be I should keep the door casing/trim in the same color as the rest of the room trim, and just paint the door a darker color?

Would that be better?
