I'm feeling much better about my kitchen now

I had begun to feel that every house on the market except mine would have granite counter tops, subway tile, and new counter tops, and thought maybe we wouldn't be able to sell without it.

I've been looking at real estate ads for houses in my area to see how much updating has been done on them, and in my price range, they are nearly all like mine with wood cabinets, formica tops, and plain appliances.

But then I saw this slide show and physically cringed when I saw the kitchen. Now I feel MUCH better about my kitchen.

Oh yes, what a beauty! Ha! Don't worry, in Real Estate land, there's always going to be those homes that "seem" better than yours and homes that are obviously worse off then yours. Me personally, I like being in the middle! :c)

Whoa! I had to pause that slide show to see if the kitchen was as awful as it appeared (no wonder this slide show is set on uber high speed LOL) Those cabinets are horrifying but yet, after lurking on this site for awhile, we all know those cabs could be stripped and painted and probably would look as good as new!

OMGoooodness.....do you think those cabinets look so bad in real life? Yikes!

oh my, I'm not sure what they did to those poor cabinets, but I think it would have been better to leave them in the original condition.

its not so much the cabs that get me...its the continuation of the horror on the walls. i'm suprised they didn't do the floors lol

I also feel better about my kitchen that I now find beautiful after seeing pics of that kitchen. That is the ugliest kitchen.

That makes my Very Brady Kitchen look like a Christopher Peacock!

Oh man....how on earth do they expect to sell that house with a kitchen that looks that horrible?? Seems like a smart seller would have put a little money into stripping that whitewash or whatever it's supposed to be and repainting!!

And there's even worse out there ...

I'd be interested in that house because it has 2000 sq feet & almost 3 acres of land with some mature trees on the property. The really awful kitchen is a bonus from my POV because it eliminates about 99% of the other potential buyers.

I agree with cilantro. nearly 3 acres and 2000 square feet for $141,000!!!! If I lived there I'd buy it in a second as long as the structure was sound! But that kitchen would be the first thing to go...ugh that's horrible!!! And those bandaid colored walls, ewwwww!

to me it looks like the cabs and wall have been primed for painting. a good idea if that's the case....but then, of course, the photo should not have appeared on the site.

Oh, come on now spammer. This is a forum for people interested in IMPROVING their homes. And sorry, but just because you put a for sale sign in front of a garbage heap doesn't make it any less a garbage heap.

    Here's another one to enjoy:
