Yes the green/blues at the far right end was the only "high" part on my graph. Most of the other places were all the way down...blue/greens are my fave too...hmm...there must be a reason. Wish they had analyzed it further so that we would have a clue when a certain color spectrum was not completed as well as the others. c

    Fun test.

Not sure what this means, I do wonder if the monitor on
our PCs, Ipads, Notebooks etc.. has an effect on the
color choices. I always thought I was a color guru
but maybe those in the 1520 range are the true wizards.

I got a 3, and interestingly enough, the spectrum I missed (blues) is the one color I don't use anywhere in my house.

4 the first time, and took it again and got a 0.

Hey I got a perfect score!

Congrats Jterrilynn - you are the new GW color wizard!

    I got a 16.

I got an 8. After a while I was dizzy, they all looked the same!

I got a 0 too! I guess all that time looking at fabric for quilting projects has taught me something!

Remember, the biases of your monitor will also be tested. If you don't think your score is accurate, calibrate your monitor and try again. Some monitors don't do lights and darks well even if calibrated for hue.

Another 4 here (best score for my age/gender 0, worst 1520).

I started to get the idea that my color acuity was good when we were choosing paints a couple of years ago. All the cool shades of blue-gray I tried in one room looked very different to me, from icy to wintry sky to battleship. DH just said "ugh, gray". ;)

I did it twice. First I got a 41. The second time a 16. It's pretty dark in our computer room though - a lot of the colors did look the same!

I GOT A 3 and like a few others here my weak spot was in the blue/green area. Maybe that's why it took me about 15 blue/green paint samples until I finally made up my mind for one of my wall colors!

I got an 8, and also had problems in the blue/green area.

60 here and all my troubles picking paint colors explained.

I got a perfect score, a 0! I can't wait for my DH to take the test. You should see some of the things he tries to wear sometime. I am constantly correcting him. Now I have proof that I am right!!!! hehehehe

I also got an 8. The blue/greens made me especially googly-eyed, but my errors weren't concentrated there. They were all over the spectrum.

I got a 15. I KNOW my monitor is off but my problem children were also in the blue-green ranges.

I also got a 3, and my trouble spot was the blue/green - which are also my favorite colors. I didn't look at that one a second time, after finishing them all. Probably why.

boxerpups, the lower the score the better. So you didn't do bad!

I don't think monitor settings really have much to do with it, because if it's off a tad, all the squares are off.

I'm mad at myself for not getting a 0, and told DD2 I will be doing it again later.

Wow - I scored a perfect 0 1st time, too. What is it that makes us feel like, "King of the Mountain", when we score well on these brain teaser tests? I don't know, but I like it, speaks a 55 yr old female!

Interesting about the interpretation some are making of their scores. I have no problem picking paint colors and I never ever buy a sample pot . I just use the cards that the store has. I used to sell clothing and accessories in an upscale clothing store and always had lots of compliments on how I put together outfits and colors.

My personal experience, for what it is worth, the ability to line up these very close samples of color in a spectrum has little to do with real life and color sense. c

Thank you, I'm going to cling to this thought like a life preserver! I have a background in art, and a craft room full of colored tiles and fabrics. Maybe I won't be forced to take up black and white photography, after all?

What a fun test, deedles. I also got a 0 which, let's face, makes me feel good to be perfect at something.

I didn't read everyone's responses super-closely except trailrunner's above -- what a kick it would be to have gone to the boutique when you worked there, Caroline! I have no doubt you have a terrific style sense. I love mixing color and pattern with gobs of accessories: to me more equals more. And how. One of my favorite clothing stores is Serrahna in Oakland, CA. (I live in CO.) It's both good and bad I don't live closer ....

    Thanks again, deedles!

I got 104. Makes me glad I live in jeans or black or navy blue pants and mostly white or gray t-shirts. I'd probably look a mess if I tried to actually dress in colors of any sort...LOL

    19 for me.
    L.

16, with errors the same place as everyone else - a splotch in the blue to violet, and a splotch in the light greens.

No wonder it bothered me so much when I chose the wrong gray for the living room (3 times!) that opens into the blue dining room. Warning: BM's Heaven on Earth is a beautiful blue, but it's very fussy about what goes with it!

I got an 11 which I was happy with. Blue and green for me, too were the weak spot. I thought it was a fun test so I grabbed it from the small house forum... someone over there gets the ultimate credit for finding it! I'm going to have my fashion forward 17 year old DD try this when she gets home. 'Course, if she outscores me, I'll never hear the end of "are you wearing that?" and then she'll have a leg to stand on, lol....

I got an 8. I have to say the squares started jumping around after awhile and blending together! I did wonder about the accuracy of monitors, since I know that colors on renderings I produce with my drafting software are WAY different on my PC than on my Mac.

It seems blue/greens are the trouble spot for most. Is it a weak area of our eyes or of computer screens?

I got a 3 in the 50 to 59 range though soon to be 60 :). I too had the misses in the blue green range and that is one of my favorite colors! And like someone else said it took me a ton of samples of pale gray blue/greens to chose my favorite for my kitchen.

10 for me blue/green trouble and now am seeing spots! LOL My DS is colorblind so I will have him do it at some point to see what he scores! ;)

wow now that was fun! I got a 12 - not too shabby for the 50-59 age group lol!

I got a 22. Like everyone else, my one downfall was the green-blues. I noticed when I was taking the test, that the green-blues all looked so pleasing together. Maybe many of us like mixing those hues more than the other palettes, so we aren't as discriminating when taking the test. Just a theory.

    scored a 23

    getting better: now an 11

I got a 28...Got cross eyed after the first few. Can't wait to see what DH scores...hehehe.

Thanks, Deedles, for posting this. Everyone wants to try it!

My DD (9) got 18! She was proud and excited and insisted I post this.

    Yea Mtnrdredux's DD!

The fifth one to get a Zero here!

Funny how they made the lowest score the best.

The fact that your eyes can see minute differences in color shades
means you will pick out the mouse among the fallen leaves
from high in the tree first and get to eat today.

    Oh...wait...that's hawks.

Maybe it means I do better at the buffet???

129! ... Wait, lower is better?! Aww man.

Not surprising considering I am ridiculously color blind. I failed something like 7 of 9 of the color blind tests someone posted recently.

It's funny though because I still feel bad about the fact that I do poorly on color tests. It's like my wife who stresses about doing poorly on eye tests.

Great test! When I first did it yesterday I got a 20, but I didn't take that much time with it. I was thinking close enough was close enough, and I had a few mistakes in each color group. I just retook it and spent about twice as long, and I got a perfect score. I was surprised because I guessed at a couple of them!

Tomorrow I'll see how my husband and kids do.

I redid it an got a zero (down from 8). But I was holding up my laptop screen a few inches from my face. I found that the angle of the screen really mattered, and so did the level of ambient light.

I got a 4 as well, with the difficulty in the green/yellow range. I prefer blues and pinks and purples. Interesting. Now I am going to send it to my sister since she thinks that she sees color better than I do! LOL

I got a 13 and have trouble with blue greens and some blue purples. Purple is one of my favorite colors but I like it toward the blue spectrum.

I got a 0 too! I drove DH nuts a few years ago trying to find the perfect shade of off white paint with the right undertones. They all looked the same to him. I imagine his score will be pretty high if I can get him to take the test.

Hmm...39 which is slightly better than average for my age group (60-69). This goes a long way to explaining why I stick to simple color choices... black pants, khaki, or jeans for every occasion!

I won't tell my husband, who is totally colorblind:-)

Got a zero the 1st try - but what a strain on old eyes!

Am I the only one bothered by the black background? I couldn't finish, and had to close my browser.

4 here. And I was getting a bit tired of doing this...the ones I missed were all in a row at the end of the pinks!

Not using a professional kitchen planner allowed me to explore my creativity and "eye" which I had previously considered non-existent. This test, however small, gives me even more confidence. So excited to learn new capabilities in my 50s!

    Conclusion? Rum rocks!
