I'm just posting here because Google Image Search has failed to find me any answers. It's looking like I'm going to have to put in an island range hood (because of an inability to downdraft vent), and the kitchen is smallish and open to the living room, so I don't want some huge copper or wooden monstrosity. It seems like my only options are stainless steel, but since I have a rusted iron/steel thing going on with black appliances, I've taken pains to eliminate any "shiny" metal from the kitchen.

I did find these:

Square one, powdercoated

Angled one, powdercoated

...but no pictures of how they would actually look in a kitchen. Custom is also an option, since DH and I are both mechanically inclined, creative, hands on people with a bevy of tools and shop space at our disposal. But I can't seem to find a custom island hood that doesn't look like you could turn it upside down and canoe down the Gallatin in it!
