Dark living room needs wall art!

My boyfriend has a small grey-brown living room with dark grey couches. (I know, pretty boring.) he told me its my job to decorate the walls and I cannot wait to do it, but I have no idea what put on the walls! He likes dark art, but I'd like to add some kind of color to the pictures I put on the walls. Does anyone have any pictures they can send me to get ideas or does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?? Please help!

Oh how I love these tree decals. They're inexpensive and masculine but with great feminine appeal too. Seems like a win, win to me. The second piece is masculine, fairly dark, but colorful and would be another choice for the living room

Then, just to wake you and him up in the morning, you could buy the colorful piece below for the bathroom.

If you post pictures it will help people be able to see the decor you are working with. In the meantime, look on Etsy.com and use their search engine. Etsy is a collection of "shops" of a wide range of products uniquely crafted by artisans from the US and all over the world. You can type photography and a particular theme in the search engine such as photography horses or a location such as Paris, Venice, Coastal, lighthouse etc. I have a photography shop, nancyhehmann on Etsy. Etsy also has paintings, and more types of wall decor. Hope I have been of help.

If you will click on the line under the photo, it will take you to the seller. You can also google tree decals and find other vendors, just to check different prices and designs. Glad you like them!

You really need to know his style. Does he like comic book art, sports, graphics, even metal art would be funky. Get him to look at some websites and see what interests him, then go from there. Make the space something he loves to be in. The first rule of good design.

For dark art, do you mean in terms of color, feeling or subject? Does he prefer abstract, landscapes, graffiti, sculpture, etc?

If he likes abstract but darker colors, then maybe something like
