Algae and Mold are fostered by conditions too damp or too little light and insufficient ventilation. Fungus spores can exist in soils. All soil should be sterilized before using for sowing seeds. Airborne spores can still settle on damp soil and begin to grow. Adequate ventilation and bright light can help eliminate or limit surface growth of unwanted plant life.
