Mammillaria Wildii - fast growing!

i recently got a mammillaria wildii for a b'day present, and ive only had it for 3 weeks and its doubled in size! this thing is such a beast that you can basically watch it grow every minute! (well, maybe not that quick). but does anyone know why this cactus is growing so fast? is it the hot weather? the amount of water im giving it? whatever it is, this thing is the Hulk of cactus's.

    Hi Joel

I have 2 forms of M. wildii a cream flower and a pink flowering plant. I have had the cream flowered plant for more than a year and it has grown well over that time. I have attached photos of both plants.
