Proud but green (with envy).

ABSOLUTELY THRILLED BEYOND DESCRIPTION. As a mother, my love for my kids transcends silly stuff like awards and money and fame and praise. An award for my daughter makes me shine with delight. No envy, no jealousy, simply happiness.

Ninety-nine times out of a hundred I would agree. But I dunno....if I were exceptionally good at something, but just missed one of the top awards in that something on three occasions - and then one of my children actually got that award - on the first attempt, too...

Yes, of course I'd be absolutely delighted - but I think it would only be human to be a little bit peeved as well..!!

Nah... I see your point Martin but just can't agree especially if I already had three successful books under my belt. Besides, she'd have a far longer career ahead of her... better that she should win. I'd much rather be labeled as "my daughter's mom" than have my daughter perhaps struggle to keep up with mom. Not worth it to me.
