"Gadget" is the right word. It might work well enough with a Meyer lemon, which is 70% juice; or maybe with a Valencia orange, which is just over 40%; much less so with an ELB lemon (Eureka, Lisbon, Berna), which are lucky if they are 30%; and even less with a "lime"... some commercial "limes" at times have less than a teaspoon of juice.

I have tried it with a Fino lemon and it works fine, I suppose that even better with a Meyer.
As I said, it is funny, for kids for example :-)

I've seen something similar but without the sprayer. Just pour the juice out. It's kind of what my husband calls "toyls" A toy-like tool, ; )

I wonder if you were to 'massage' or roll a warm lemon for a while whether that would generate more juice to use this.

Once you have sprayed several times (more than I believed) and the lemon starts to "wrinkle", you have to squeeze the lemon a bit to get more sprays.ÃÂ
You wont empty the 100% of juice, but you will leave it fairly crushed.

As I am getting older I am ridding my house of all gadgets and doing things by hand. I have a hand shredder to make my cabbage into coleslaw. A hand can opener replaces the electric, My garage door opener is gone. We use a push reel type lawn mower. A scythe and hand shears beats weed whackers and power hedge trimmers. A 5 foot 2 person pull saw beat a chain saw. limb cutters also work fine. The extra exerciser I get helps fight the old age wasting. At 57 years old I still climb 50 feet up in my tree to cut out dead wood with a small hand trim saw. Compost pile replaced my garbage disposal and a dish rag replace my dishwasher.

I too have become a minimalist as I have aged; it just makes life simpler. There is an old adage that "the person who is most free, is the person who has nothing". At my farms, however, we are mechanizing more where we can, or can afford. It is one thing to use a hand trimmer to trim a couple of trees, as I do in my garden; it is quite another to trim 30,000 trees twice per year with a hand tool.
