I made it too. At least I think I did. We'll see what name I'm under. This is Cindallas. Feel like I've been down the rabbet hole, vortex and transporter also all in one, simultaneously!! Glad most people are finding their way and the powers that be are open to several of our suggestions. I would miss GW tremendously if it went away. It's the people that make it the 'community' it is.

One thing that is interesting is seeing peoples pictures. I must say that I have learned that one person I thought was a girl is a guy and another I thought was a guy is a girl. Its funny how you make these assumptions. I decided to add my photo as I had already posted this pic on the home decor conversation side.

I didn't have a Houzz account, only a GW. During the merger Houzz renamed me from Decordummy to Decordummy_GW. I was going to change my name to remove the _GW but decided not to (sort of a GW badge of honour) and thought if I changed my mind I could always do it later. Yesterday I discovered that Houzz also has a Decordummy (not me) and a Decordummie (not me). I joined GW in 2010, my least favourite style is modern/contemporary (sorry - I love classic & trad). The other Decordummy seems to have joined in 2013 and lists favourite style as modern/contemporary.

I'm here too. Thanks to the tip for changing your first name, I have the same handle as before, plus a photo of a cute MT goat. I wasn't sure if I was going to take part in the new Houzz version of the forums until I saw someone with a question about etching. And then I was like, .... Oh no! Someone thinks there is such thing as 'soft quartzite'.... must log in... must help clarify misconceptions about rocks.... I can't help myself!

But I'm not nearly as into it, so we'll see how it goes over the long haul.

Casey, You Have The House! I miss that house!. It was so sad to see that beautiful house disappear with the change. In fact that was going to be one of my complaints, but felt there were bigger fish to fry.
How did you get it?

I'm still iroll (changed it back, had same name on both). As an aside, weeks before the GW/Houzz switch, I had changed my email address on both accounts. My Houzz profile only shows my new, correct email, and I am receiving email there, but somehow I am also still receiving email through my old address as well, although I can't see it listed anywhere. Weird. But soon the old address will cease to exist, so I'm not worrying about it.

I think I still show up as liz_h. My gw name was Liz_H. I haven't been on the Kitchens Forum in ages; but drop in to other forums occasionally

I used the wayback machine (literally, not kidding. it's a thing) and grabbed a screenshot of GW homepage from Jan. 21. They archive the entire internet periodically, it's amazeballs.

A bit annoying that I had to add a "2" to my user name, because the system told me someone else already HAD up4travel on Houzz. Yes, that's ME over there on Houzz. It does seem easy enough to compare the email addresses -- they were the same. SIGH

Thats too bad, my names were the same on GW and on Houzz before the change and they updated the same. I wonder if Tamara can help you with this. On the other hand your new name is a bit mysterious...like what were you up to before the travel :) (2=too)

Uptravel - You can change your display name to your old name by going to Your Houzz, edit profile and changing your first name under profile. It will then become your display name :-)

How do you separate your personal name from your pro name? Can you go between the two accounts?

I'm here too! I must have had the same username on both...I just clicked over to GW one morning and followed the link, and I came out the other side here and with the same name.

Aamich here. I just dropped the zone designation, less complicated.. I haven't been on for several weeks due to illness and other things going on, wow, what a change to the forums. Lots to get used to.

I am still tinker1121 and trying to create a profile picture but it made this long sort of photo of my granite on my Houzz page. This is a test to see how that photo shows up.

Can someone explain how to edit a profile please?

Hiya tinker, glad to see you made it here! There are two photos you can select for your profile; the long one that goes across the top of your page, and the smaller one that works for your avatar. If you mouse over the gray silhouette figure, you should see a camera icon that pops up. Click there, and it will let you upload a picture for your avatar. Let us know if you need help.

It's me gr8day! I had to add GW because imagine, someone already had gr8day : / I was worried I wouldn't see familiar names again! I think this is a great marriage and will add an infusion of excitement with the addition of houzz. So many times I have turned to houzz for inspiration and visual help and then to GW for advice. Now we can have both in one place.

Yay! They finally sorted out my accounts (I'm down to one, attached to the right email address and my GW history). So I can post again.

I'm still me. I had absolutely no problem with the transition and my name. I guess no one else wants to be me! Although I would like a new user name but then i wouldn't be me anymore. What a conundrum.

I was onerae on gw...mostly a lurker for many years...was just getting ready to request help with our kitchen remodel. Really don't know what's going on with the changes yet or how to change my Houzz name. I do hope you all will still be generous with your advice. Thanks

I'm still me too, just added a "_" between my first name and middle and last initials. It always seemed a bit confusing. The last letter is an "L," but it's hard to tell in lower case.

Hi..a longtime lurker, occasionally used to post as vinudev_liny..took this opportunity to shorten the handle..it is great to see all the same folks still hanging out here. It wouldn't be as much fun or as informative without you all!

On GardenWeb I was JAAune which is just my first two initials and last name. Those who frequented the woodworking, kitchen and furniture forums may remember me but I seldom entered any of the other forums.

Since I had a professional Houzz account before the merger, I ended up using it instead of trying to get my GardenWeb name working over here.
