Related Forums! Do you see it?

What a nice surprise. Now we have the Roses Forum right here. I bet Tamara did that for us.

I am adjusting to Houzz. I wonder what kind of ads might be coming in the future. Those ads were quite annoying in the GW.

I am also wondering about the photos.

Can anyone review how we go to the "Your Houzz" and change the name. Is it the second name that we can change?

I had to put in an older email, but now I can use that email for the collections of comments from this forum, and use my newer email for everything else.

Go to "Your Houzz" then click "Edit Profile". From there, you should see your account information. Underneath the user name and email is your Profile Information. Whatever you put in for your first and last names will be what is displayed instead of what your user name is (at the top).

For example, my user name is asm198, but I wanted to add my zone info as well, so I changed it to this.

    First name: asm198

Last name: - zone 6a (MO)

Thanks. I may need to change mine since I put everything in the first name and left the last name blank. I had feared that to make a change in the profile would mean that I would see that horrible "Account" sign, but all is well.

Now that related links are there, I'm happy! For me that was the most annoying difference. I think the pictures on this site are now more vivid. My only other complaint is the bright white background. If they could just tone down the white background a bit. It's a bit too bright on the eyes.

mzstitch, I think we can adjust the colors on our own computers. I did that years ago, and need to do it again. I think the settings may do it, or we might have to go to the control panel.

I see white now, but read in blue gray. So I need to change everything to the blue gray.

..I must be one of the few people that thinks it's great.... so much better for me than on the old site...maybe not being an American makes a difference...one feels a little distant from it perhaps, and I wasn't on the old forum long nor contributed enough to get too attached to it.....

...for all things gardening there's nothing out there like this one....certainly not in the UK... we have forums but they're rarely as in depth as you can get on here.... and I've never got used to Facebook....tried.....failed....lol...

I find that e-mail notifications started to clutter up my mailbox so I was glad I could edit my profile and remove that feature. It takes time to learn.

I am happy to see the related forums at the top! It's nice that they are listening and working with users. That definitely does not always happen. On facebook when they have changed the layout of their site a dozen times, people kick and scream and nothing changes.

I was really hesitant about Houzz from the beginning but I am enjoying a lot of these changes & appreciate that they're trying to accommodate and meet people in the middle. :)

Yes I would think Tamara had something to do with the changes, well done Tamara. The related forums at the top is a good move, make navigation to other forums a lot easier. As for the user name bit, thanks asm198.

Also, I love the up arrow.

Perhaps it depends on the computer, but for me it's actually easier and faster to hit the "home" button on the computer which takes me to the top of the page instantly.
