Help needed with picking dining chairs for living/dining combo!!

Just started furniture shopping and ordered a Saybridge sofa in a burnt orange microfiber fabric from Macy's along with the Champagne dining table and matching bench. I need suggestions to figure out what kind of chairs will tie the sofa and dining table together. Trying to furnish with an industrial chic style in mind. Pics of furniture pieces and room attached. Planning to place the sofa along the window wall and the dining table across the room from the window.

    Nice choices.

I was looking at the Hooker furniture site and saw these ones. I particularly like the last two I picked for you.

Thanks carolins. I love the 3rd one. Do you think I need to go with 4 of those or just 2 at either end and the table's matching chairs in between? See pic below.

What about this style for the chairs in between? I'm not sure if they will blend with having two tufted chairs at each end plus the bench. I love the minimal look though.

I don't think the mixing of the two styles work well together and not sure if either are industrial chic. Many industrial looking chairs are not that comfortable, but I thought the ones below are comfortable (and vey well priced), modern and you could reupholster in a burnt orange velvet.

Just to clarify, are you planning to have the bench with the dining table?

You can definitely do different chairs at the head of the table. Try to keep the wood finish of whatever chairs you choose close to the table finish. To further distinguish the head chairs from the side chairs matched to the table, look for higher back, arms, fully upholstered. Have seats of side chairs upholstered in a coordinating fabric to that of the head chairs. Pull in fabrics with burnt orange, but can incorporate other colors and pattern. Order extra fabric to make some pillows for the sofa.

Thanks Maureen. The table does look a bit rustic because of the wire brush finish on the top surface so I wanted chairs in a softer look to complement. The chair you suggested looks nice too but I wasn't visualizing anything modern looking in this space. I thought the tufted sofa would match the tufted dining chairs so I was thinking in that route. I also felt that those metal chairs looked a bit industrial if not chic but I'm no expert :) I would want to get a nice chandelier in some metal tone above the dining table. Found this chandelier on west elm which was similar to what I had in mind.

intown123 - Yes, I was planning to get the bench. With the bench being there I thought it may look odd having two different kinds of chairs. Or another option would be to forgo the bench altogether and get six chairs - 4 of one kind and 2 head chairs. What do you suggest?

Seems liked you are leaning towards and the tuffed chairs and they would really compliment your couch and are easy to find. I can only see the bench working if the table/bench are going to be placed nearer to the wall, vs in the middle of room; otherwise I would just get the chairs (and they are more comfortable as well). If I could comment on the chandelier, with the shades facing up it is going to be a dust collector, just something to keep in mind, but I like its simple lines.

Thanks for the good suggestions Adalisa. I wasn't considering re-upholstering the chairs at this point but I'll surely look into that option if I want to add more color to my space. For the couch, I was planning to dress it up with turquoise tone cushions and a neutral area rug.

I like the metal chairs and your chandelier choice. If it were me I would actually do just the metal chairs - I don't think you need more tufting (or orange) if you have the tufted couch - let that be the star. You could do the metal chairs and the bench which I think is a nice look although I am not in love with benches for the comfort factor. I do have those chairs (I use them outside) and they are comfortable.

Great suggestion Maureen. I never thought about the dust bit and that is my biggest pet peeve after installing our dark wood floors! I was leaning towards getting the bench to create a feeling of more space in the room as it is not very big. That's a good idea to keep the bench along the wall instead of in front so that the chairs have more focus.

My sister had lovely chandelieres that were open at the top and it drove her crazy. Good luck with your decisions. Fun!

Maybe the glass orb chandelier from West Elm so you don't have to clean the dust out of the shades?

Thanks intown123. I love the look of those metal chairs but I've never tried them out at any store yet, and my husband fears they might be a bit cold and uncomfortable to sit on. I have seen numerous pictures where such metal chairs have been used with the table we are buying so they were on my mind. The tufted chairs I thought would match my couch and like Maureen mentioned, they'd be comfortable to sit on.

If I got rid off the bench altogether, could I get away with having 4 metal chairs in between and 2 tufted chairs at each end, or is that just too extreme?

If you're definitely going for the bench I would go for 4 of the same chairs around the table. The metal ones are too industrial looking to be chic. They wouldn't tie your sofa and dining area together.

If the metal chairs are too uncomfortable or industrial, I like the clean lines of the chair that comes with your table. Maybe four of those and a parsons chair like carolins first choice would tie it together.

I wasn't sold on the chairs that came with our dining table and (i think) I have the option to cancel them from the order. They're nice yes but I thought there were a bit too simple. After asking the question about mixing metal and upholstered chairs, I think it's a bad idea after seeing this pic so scratching that from my list. Maybe if all the chairs were a similar height....

I'm still undecided on the bench.

Planning to head over to Macy's this evening as they have the table on display. Will mix and match over there and take some pics! Will test the bench out today as well to see if it's comfy or not.

End chairs should be bigger and different from side chairs. Your sofa is formal looking but you covered in a more casual fabric and color orange. I would use a print fabric on end chairs with orange from sofa. Side chairs cover seats in a cream. Cream could be your accent color. Chairs that come with table are OK. But if going for a more rustic look. The metal ones shown above would work or try Lucite chairs. Check IKEA. For some fun looks.
Chandelier is fun. How big is table? Then hang 36" from top. I would shop for something more impressive. A white round one from IKEA. Lamp plus. Better to see in person. Make sure it's big enough.
I would not buy the bench. Not comfortable. And a dated look now. Chairs is way to go.
Orange sofa, turquoise pillows. You can use some turquoise but in a pattern mix with orange and cream. Try a chevron. Or Greek key design also. mix it up.
Pier one has many styles to choose from. Sit before buying.
Turfed chairs with that table is to formal. Think outside the box, for a interesting room.

78" wide Nancy. I didn't know that the bench style was dated. Will read up on that now :) If you have any chandelier suggestions, do send me pics.

I am going to try out those metal chairs to decide on the comfort factor.

Thanks Nancy. I will do some more research and maybe have more pics to share on this after today evening.

Hubs and I went to the store this evening. We have decided to not get the bench because on inspection we found it to be quite flimsy and will surely tip over if someone sits on the edge. Our next option to keep costs down is to get 4 of the wooden chairs with the 3 slatted backs and then add two end chairs to complete the look. The wooden chairs look much better in person than in the pics posted on the website. I'm willing to work with them for now. Pics attached of the two different kinds of end chairs that we tried with the table. Thoughts? I personally liked the tufted chairs at the end. Will get chairs with legs that more or less match the table color.

Yes, from the options above I do like the version with the tufted end chairs too.

I do like the Westelm chandelier, even if it is a dust collector. Nothing Marge Simpson can't handle :-)

But I do like something like this too (Overstock) http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Warehouse-Tiffanys-Jackstone-Chandelier/8627242/product.html?refccid=6JLG6M5DX4XJIVCKPNIFBFTZYM&searchidx=153
