Zephyr vs Modern Aire vs Prizer Under the Cabinet 30"

I will have a 30" induction range, and need an under the cabinet vent hood, prefer baffles. I have narrowed it down to:

Zephyr (Tempest I Pro Style aK 7000BS 30"),

Modern Aire MR PS 1010-230 SS,

Prizer, 30" 600 CFM (PH-LP-30SS 6)

Zephyr is 11" high, the other two are 10" high.

My friend, a decorator, suggested I have the pot/utensil bar installed on the face front of the range hood (available in the Modern Aire and Prizer, not sure about the Zephyr) to enhance the look (it will be very visible from the open living space). Function is the most important to me, so which would you recommend? The Zephyr is the least expensive, and the Modern Aire and Prizer are very close in price. I appreciate your time and help.

Please advise me. My last decision...;)

Thank you in advance!

Love my Modern Aire. Simple and easy to clean, great lights. Can't speak to the utensil bar since I didn't get one.

Thank you for your response! I wonder if anyone has ordered the pot/utensil bar? I can't imagine hanging anything from it, but she thinks it will look nice.

I have utensil bars on both long sides of my Wolf Pro Island hood. I think they improve the look. Hanging anything on them, however, was banned. :)

Thank you, kas, for your response. I think they look nice too.

We recently installed zephyr monsoon 1 - it is a one piece liner that goes into a wooden hood. Am very pleased with the performance. Not one complaint. I know it is not the same hood you mentioned.

I appreciate your response, good to know you're happy with Zephyr. Thank you!

In an open space config, seems that the nice clean lines would start to look fussy and busy... Although in a country kitchen or farm kitchen more casual (vs sleek contemp) I would love it, especially to complement any open shelving storage

    Hello ,

What about an under cabinet range hood from Kitchenhoods.ca .

I bought model Elite-30 it looks like the ones you are interested in , it comes with 5 years warranty , 900 CFM and why i like it so much is because it comes with two rotary switches and basically is impossible to break. Here is the link for the model

By the way their customer service is amazing, i had to speak with them because i had an installation question, and they helped me a lot. I do recommend this item as it is not expensive and it does draw a lot of air.

I would like to share my experience with Kitchenhoods.ca , i have purchased island mount range hood model SV218D- I30 , i apologize i know that this discussion is not about island mount range hoods, but the main picture is the price and the customer service , one of my boxes was lost during transit, and their customer service agent was very helpful and ,the new box was on the way the same day i contacted them. All in all i would recommend this company, simply because of the customer service and because of the product quality.

Are you referring to bakker 443?

Yes. and sanchezh1. Both shills. Their only posts are ones to promote their company.

Thank you so much, for your time and help. I looked at them, but do not like the squirrel cage motor. Sticking with Modern Aire or Prizer.

In my search a couple years ago for an island hood, I had narrowed it down to Modern-Aire and Prizer. I have an exposed sloped ceiling, and the hood needed to be a semi custom design to fit my particulars, which both companies could accommodate. I chose the Prizer partly because I have a Bluestar range, but I also felt it's design, fit and finish were just a bit more refined as well.

I really don't think you can go wrong with either, both top quality hoods. chris

Thank you, Chris. I am now having trouble getting a quote from a dealer, left several messages, still hasn't responded. I am sure Prizer wouldn't be happy to hear that.
