Bump in case you didn't see this yet Mary E.

Once I got my password back, I was able to get into Advanced Settings. However, there was no box to check next to my Tradelist. I updated my profile but still can't see if anyone else can "View My Tradelist" when they click on my username.

Is someone willing to try it and see if they can get to my Tradelist by clicking on my name, and let me know? If you can't get to it, do you have any suggestions that I haven't already tried?

Also, the way the Tradelist showed up in Advanced Settings looks like it would be difficult to work with when I want to update the Tradelist, but the old way I used to do it - "member index page" - just gives me stuff that has nothing to do with gardening at all. Do you have any better ideas about how to update the Tradelist?

Do we still have the capacity to search all of the Tradelists? I can't find it.

spacetogrow- I went to your trade list. It is there. Yes, it is hard to edit in the little text box. I just worked on mine today. It helps to highlight, copy and paste it to a document and make your changes. Then, copy and paste it back to the text box. That's what I did to get a better look at it.

At 'Your Houzz' if you go to the top of your profile page it allows you to see what others see. Click on 'preview your public profile' and go to the third icon where it says 'view my trade list.'

I don't think we have the 'search the trade lists' option yet. They are working on getting all those goodies back for us.

Q for you...when you receive an email stating that someone has sent you a message via HOUZZ, is there anyway to read the message in your private email without having to sign in to HOUZZ to read it? If you all remember, on GW, if you were lucky enough to receive the mail sent through the GW site, it could be read in your private email.

Annie, I just sent you a message. I don't think the actual HOUZZ message will be in the email. At (old) GW, we were actually sending an email, and not a private message via the site.

I did receive your private message and just responded. You are right on. I can not read the message in my email because with HOUZZ it is sent as a "private message". My private email only tells me that somone has sent me a HOUZZ message, thus I have to sign in to HOUZZ to read it .........On GW, we were sending an "email", thus I could read the message in my email..

Ok, I received a private message and it said "So-and-so (fictitious member name) sent you a message," and then there is a clickable link that says "See Message". Since I don't log out of GW/Houzz, the link just takes me right to the message.

Thank you. Now I have a question. One thread I always looked under was Seed Exchange. Was that eliminated, moved somewhere else or??? You don't have to know the answer, but you're way ahead of me. I wanted to post that I was looking for some plants in the Plant Exchange and I couldn't find either thread. Heidi

E Now those things are under "E", Heidi. You will see Exchanges & Trades ... click on it, and whoa! There they are! Took me awhile, but I learned to stop looking under "S" for seed, look under E for Exchange. Mary E.

Sue, thanks for this info. I tried setting up messaging, but since I didn't see the Message button, thought it wasn't working. After reading this, one doesn't see the Message button on our own profile page, whew!
