Planting a raspberry bush

Cross post:

I bought this raspberry bush yesterday and need a little guidance. I'm
in a zone 6a, SE Michigan,

and we still have a bit of snow in the ground. Do I just
need to keep it lightly watered and in a windowsill until the ground
thaws? Where should I pick to plant it? I have a fence that I'm
thinking of planting it close to but not on top of. Any and all advice
is greatly appreciated it! I'm thinking of even getting a few more, we
love our raspberries! :o)

As you know, it's a little early to be planting right now. Especially something that is already leafed out. So you're pretty much stuck keeping it indoors, at least at night. Should be able to put it outside during the day.

As for where to plant it, raspberries spread quickly. So choose a spot wisely.

You should post this question over on the Fruit & Orchards Forum if you haven't already.
