Would appreciate advice for new kitchen granite and sink. Thanks much

My husband and I are building a new home. We have finished with the kitchen design and I am quite excited. The base cabinets are a vintage sage color and the top cabinets are a rustic cherry(nutmeg color) with knot holes, dings, etc. Our appliances are SS. The floor is 5" hardwood. I am leaning towards a leather finish granite or soapstone, but am totally open and appreciative to suggestions. We are also doing a 33" farm sink. I am leaning toward either fireclay or copper, but again, I am open to suggestions. Thoughts on color of the fireclay...I am worried that white might be too glaring? The sink is a focal point. Thank you for your input!

I love soapstone with what you are describing and you can have a soapstone sink made as well. I have seen them in person and they are beautiful.

I love soapstone too. Our fabricator, not so much.

When I did my remodel my contractor hated everything I picked out until it was done. Stick to your vision even if someone tried to dissuade you. I am sure leathered granite would be lovely as well but soapstone seems perfect with what you're describing.

it's possible your fabricator may be reacting to uninformed buyers who order soapstone but then complain later about how it scratched easily.
