Help mixing patterns for eclectic-phobic

Looking for approx 9x12ish living room rug.
House is navy & ivory / white, med / dark wood floors.

Think Im eclectic phobic, articles Ive read on mixing patterns show room photos that make my eyes want to bleed. Yet I DO like contrast, things that pop, just not a lot of different popping, not lot of colors. I do have art prints, very large vibrant colorful that I prefer standing out. Sorry if Im losing you trying to explain this- hoping I can make sense of it so you could PLEASE consider this, wanting to stay subtle on any mixing patterns.

ADJACENT DINING ROOM
Already have light wood dining set on this dark navy paisley rug, no variation in color (see light wood on dark rug, kind of pops).

LIVING ROOM
Already have this set (wont be using white cushions)

When back in stock, will get ONE of these ikat curtains

So aside from blue on blue paisley dining rug, so far my only pattern is living room curtains, purposely bold (well for me as a furnishing LOL and do love them).

Both the above rug and curtains reflect my preference of simple, bigger pattern vs smaller busier ones and now..... I need a big ole living room rug

> ONE THOUGHT
Maybe mirror the current blue accent on an ivory / white print like curtains.
Im not having much luck online finding them, much more of the opposite, ivory white accent on navy rugs & concerned solid navy furniture on mostly navy rug will be overkill. Hence the idea rug similar to curtain, mostly light.

> ANOTHER THOUGHT
While l normally dislike typical paisley, usually so busy, I do LOVE swirly curly design hence dining rug. Concerned about geometric blue/white vs swirly new color (even if somewhat neutral color like below) is worth considering that rug is so large, 9x12ish.

> AND ANOTHER
Lot of navy stripes out there - would repetition of a stripes make rug less obvious / conflicting with curtains OR might bold or too be to nautical for ikat pattern.

I apologize if Im all over the place, bit overwhelmed, appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.
