Many architects enjoy working as part of a team with an interior designer or kitchen design specialist. This allows them to focus on the big picture and collaborate on the smaller details. From my experience, bringing a designer into the fold early on in the process (as opposed to the oft-used approach of asking them to "make it pretty" after all of the layout decisions have been made) results in the most creative and user-friendly projects.
