help with color of Billy bookcase

need to know if you would pick white for either side of the entertainment stand and how high should they be. I can't change the cabinets or the stand I am looking into getting a 55 inch tv. just not sure if the book case should be white or match the stand. I'm open to other suggestions instead of using bookshelves on either side

I agree with TanCalGal, it is a short wall, so you don't want to put too much there, it will look cluttered. But if you need storage, Billy bookcases in white would look great, and help lighten the basement room.

White billy. You will have to try various heights and see how they look. Paint the TV stand the same white, too, or buy another stand that is white.

I think I plan on getting rid of the cabinets. Then what would you suggest?

Is this a family room? The upper cabinets make this room look like a kitchen or laundry room.

Could the upper cabinets be taken down and be used on the bottom and the Billy bookcases go on top or the existing cabinets? That might look better?

Yes it is the family room in the basement. I am going to move the cabinets into the garage. They were there when we moved in.

Maybe forget the Billy bookshelves? What you have will look good against the wall by itself. Photo1

If you can find additional cabinets like the ones you have on top, Photo 3 might work in the room.
