Need help deciding on size for nightstands in small bedroom

Our bedroom is small (12' x 15'). We have a king size bed and I'm trying to decide which size nightstands to buy - 26"w x 18"d or 20"w x 16"d. I'm leaning towards ordering the larger size since I'm worried that smaller nightstands look disproportionate next to a king bed (The nightstands in attached photo are 20"w). I've been going back and forth on this for a while, so any input will be so appreciated!

Meaning, the lamps are too tall/big? I've wondered that as well.

I plan to add pictures (we recently moved) but wanted to wait until I figured out where the bed will go.

    Great bed.

One of my favorite Sarah Richardson's bedroom featured mirrored tables! If you need storage, perhaps a mirrored chest?

I think the lamps are too big/tall. Will adding a wider nightstand interfere with the door to the right opening all the way?

Spray paint lamps a metallic color- silver?

The lamps shouldn't be any taller that the headboard, and yours are 4-6" taller.

The lamps are a bit to tall, the light will be right in your eyes. Should you want to sit up in bed and read than the bottom edge of the lamp shade should be below your eyes or at least at a level that it shines at what you're reading comfortably. The nightstands are cute, but would probably look better not right against the bed, center it between the wall and your bed. Soft white bulbs at low wattage or a 3-way is also a good idea for the bedroom!!

How about wall mount swing arm lamps then stick with the smaller table siZe. It doesn't look the the door to the right of the bed affords you room for larger tables.

The lamps are pretty but they read more living room to me. Love your room.

Go for the wider nightstands. The lamps might look fine on the wider nightstands.

I'm thinking the lamps are to tall and the nightstand looks very close to the bed maybe just take the lamps off give a few more inches between the stands and the bed and see how that looks. The furniture is beautiful!!!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I have about 60 inches on the right side of the bed (without current nightstands) to work with so the larger nightstands will fit. I switched out the lamps for smaller ones temporarily. Wondering if this helps and if I should still opt for the wider nightstands? (Ignore the white paint on the left side of the bed - I'm in the middle of deciding on a paint color too.)

If you go with wider nightstands, I do think a chunkier base of a lamp not much higher than your headboard would make a nice look. Should you keep the smaller ones then something narrower but as not as tall as the others!

I think either size would work. I agree that the lamps are too tall. I would opt for the larger nightstand since I too like chunkier based lamps and that will take up a lot of the nightstand space. I would also make sure that the nightstands fit within your rug. Not necessary but would look a little better.

larger if they fit. will look more proportionate with a king bed and also more useful and less cramped when you put things on it
