I gotta make another cranky observation (National Arboretum related)

Look, I sympathize with the plight of the National Arboretum. That doesn't mean we should throw reason out the window.
So...look at this list of plants at their sale this weekend:
Woody-Plants-2015.docx

Here are some observations:
Vaccinium darrowi 'Rosa's Blush' - I highly, highly doubt this would have survived the last 2 winters in all but the most sheltered gardens. I had one die, very quickly, in a mild winter ages ago.
Trachelospermum jasminoides - again, unless hardiness selected, of dubious utility for most people attending such an event
Abies concolor 'Wintergold' - sure hope it's grafted on A. firma and not whatever they typically use in Michigan or Oregon
Pinus flexilis 'Cesarini Blue' - good luck
x Cupressocyparis lelandyii (sic) - seriously?
Cupressus macrocarpa 'Golden Pillar' - there isn't even a plain Monterrey Cypress in the conifer collection there at the arboretum. (nor at Longwood, Swarthmore, or Morris) I wonder why?
Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea - http://www.eddmaps.org/ipane/ipanespecies/shrubs/Berberis_thunbergii.htm
Buxus sempervirens 'Tall Boy' - http://americanhort.theknowledgecenter.com/OnDemand/index.cfm?view=category&colid=142&cid=324
Mahonia eurybracteata 'Soft Caress' - dead as a doornail after 2013-2014, I'm not the only person who's found it closer to zn 8 than zn 7

The point of selling plants at such an event should be to encourage people who are new to horticulture, not sell them plants that will fail and discourage them. There are plenty of great offerings on the list. I suppose it would be OK if these are coming with disclaimers. Somehow, I doubt that.
