These are really lovely. La Belle Sultane has the most beautiful shape of purple.

Thanks Ingrid! I can't wait for the rest to bloom, and the other blooms to open :)

Gorgeous blooms, Alana, in some my favorite colors. Ebb Tide really shines early in the season before the heat is on, and yours is lovely. I thought it was interesting that Yolande d'Aragon reminded me very much of Young Lycidas. So beautiful. Diane

Thanks Diane, these are my favorite colors as well :) I love dark reds and purples. This is the first time La belle sultane has bloomed. Smells like heaven! My yard smells like roses, it may be because we are cool right now from a rain most of the day, not sure :) Orpheline de Juliet, second from the bottom was wet from the rain, that's why her outside petals look the way they do. Hope everyone enjoy's and will post more blooms as they come in :) Here's one of

My compliments on your roses! 'Souv. du Docteur Jamain' is particularly lovely. I'm surprised they flower this early: my once bloomers are still leafing out. I suppose we're so much further north that our winters, however mild, are much longer. The roses you show here bloom for us in the second half of May and first half of June, with the ramblers the last of all.

Thanks for the compliment Melissa! I mainly have a few bloom's here and there to tease me, lot's of buds, but most haven't opened yet. I can't wait until they get big enough to really "wow" me ;)

I haven't taken many photos of late, but here's one of Alfred de Dalmas' first blooms. Lovely fragrance and mossing.

Alana, we have such similar tastes, and quite a few roses in common. I'm still a few weeks behind you, though -- still just the Spring bulbs are blooming. Glad to see your rose season has begun!
