Curb appeal advice - 1960's red brick ranch

Jack Beasley

I'm looking for some advice on how to get the most bang for my buck to improve the curb appeal of my 1963 brick ranch. I've recently done a little landscaping, yard clean up, new plantings (still very small) along the front of the house. I've got big ideas and a small budget, and could use some feedback on what to prioritize so that if I do one or two things, the house will not look weirdly unfinished.

Some ideas I've been toying with in no particular order:

Add portico/widen front steps, replace wrought iron carport columns and front stoop columns with cedar wrapped posts, replace front step rails with something more modern, trim out windows, paint brick/trim, cut down two trees in center of yard.

Help!
