Odd place for a robin's nest

This nest was about two feet off the ground in the fork of a very small, dead tree. The nest is right on the bank of a creek and a pair of redwing blackbirds were perched nearby. It's a robin's nest, right.

Yes I believe it is. What beautiful blue eggs! Very strange for them to build only 2 feet off the ground though. (From predators and such.) Robins usually build about five feet and above. They must've really liked the spot :-)

I had on build a nest in our tractor engine. I moved it a few times, it kept building it. finally gave up after I moved it about 4 times.

Hmmm.......I'm wondering if it is something like a veery or a wood thrush? The nest material is similar and they both lay blue eggs too, but nest closer to the ground. Just don't walk up to the nest very often, since the scent you leave behind can attract predators.
