How many hybrid teas or other favorite class of roses do you have?

The other evening I started thinking about how many different hybrid tea and grandiflora varieties I have. I came up with about 56 varieties, I think that's close. I have a few duplicates in there and one triplicate, so I actually have more bushes than that. I can't help it, I love my hybrid teas! I will have to admit they must be my favorites, because they are the first ones I go to on a website. How many varieties of your favorite class of rose do you have, whether it be hybrid teas/grandifloras, floribundas, Austins, etc.?

..I now have 50 different varieties, and that's my maximum for this garden... all shrub roses/Austin's/climbers...several are China's... no hybrid teas...but I do have a couple of Floribunda's though...

..my main criteria now is that they all repeat flower... I no longer grow once bloomers...

...nice questions, thanks for asking us...

When I first started to grow roses, I only have my eyes on hybrid teas which I consider the perfect" rose. I think about a fourth of my 35 plus roses are hybrid teas. However, in recent years, I have been moving towards floribundas, shrubs and climbers. I guess time and taste changes, in part due to our fellow rosarians on this forum, and the desire to have more natural looking bush forms. I only buy hybrid teas if there is something I find unique about it or a chance to have it because I couldn't find it in the past. I did buy Voodoo, Chicago Peace, Strike it Rich, Double Delight and About Face this year because I finally found them after a few years searching for them. But normally I would lean towards Austins and shrubs roses.

I have roughly a dozen or slightly more in each general category--14 HTs; 15 floribundas and modern shrubs; 12 Austins; 12 hybrid musks and OGRS; 13 minis.

    I love my Austins most.

I do like all types of roses and have others, including floribundas and several Old Garden Roses. I haven't had much experience with Austins, but I did plant four of them this spring, I think they are beautiful, but I am not familiar enough with them yet to have an honest opinion.

About a 100, and thoroughly mixed. I have maybe 3 hts; the biggest single class is probably floribundas at 20 or so. I have: teas, chinas, bourbons, hybrid musks, hybrid wichurana, alba, gallicas, hybrid perpetuals, polyanthas, mosses, damask, a centifolia, some austins, modern shrubs and climbers, a couple of climbing ht's, hybrid spinossima.. I don't have any species roses, pernetianas, sweetbriars, or noisettes, for lack of space.

I started with hybrid teas, but I'm accumulating a whole lot of minis and minifloras. As one runs short of space, it's easy to justify that you can always fit one more of these in. Not necessarily true though, lol. I also love floribundas for their ease of care and health (resistance to blackspot). I haven't taken a head count on these, but I've acquired over 30 minis and minifloras just this year.

At about 100 roses, I have 40 HT's, about 30 mini/miniflora's and the rest a good mix of OGR's and Shrubs

My roses are more varied than I thought. 2 Bourbons, 2 Bucks, 6 large flowered Climbers, 1 miniature climber, 6 English, 2 Floribunda, 2 hybrid Chinas, 1 hybrid Kordesii, 3 hybrid Musks, 1 hybrid Rugosa, 4 Hybrid Teas, 2 Noisettes, 4 Polyanthas, 2 Shrubs, 1 Species, and 4 Teas. Plus I have a few unlabeled mystery roses.

    2 Hybrid Musk / 1 Hybrid Spinnosissima / 3 Hybrid Perpetual / 3 Moss

    4 Bermuda Mystery / 4 Boubon / 4 Polyantha

    5 Mini-Flora

    9 China

    10 Mini

    11 Grandiflora

    16 Shrub

    21 Floribunda

    36 Antique Tea

    71 Hybrid Tea

Hopefully I didn't double count anything, but I have multiples of some things so I guess it doesn't matter. There are "around" 200 roses in my garden. They're ALL my favorites. :D
