Hi, they are plain square rod balusters- in black finish. They are the type you could add a decorative knuckle to, we didn't. The connector to the step is also a standard stair part component to the square rod baluster.

I know this is a 4.5 Years since last post to this question but we are in love with your baluster and newel selection. We are trying to figure out your box newel sizes if you are able to comment.

It appears the bottom newel is larger than the others.

Not sure if 6-1/4 and 4-1/4 for smaller ones or different combination.
