How much Beadboard is too much?

I am renovating my home with a coastal cottage theme in mind so of course want to incorporate some beadboard, painted white, however I am not sure how many rooms to put it in so it doesn't start to look like too much. I am thinking the front entrance which has very high ceilings but not a large area, (actual picture attached). I would like it to be at about 6 ft height and plan on painting the brick white above that. Then I would like to do the laundry/mud room similar to the attached picture shows (this room is also the back entrance). Now would it be too much to also do the ensuite bathroom walls? The floor will be a wide pebble tile border under the free standing tub and shower floor, maybe under the toilet too, with a white and gray veined tile in the middle.

I definitely think you can over do it, and then it becomes no longer special.
Don't put it half way up the bricks...either paint those or sheet rock over the entire wall.

Then find a special spot for the beaded board. Maybe this will help you.
Just be careful where you put it and how the product is manufactured. We had it as wainscoting in our former antique home and the dampness caused it to separate and we had to caulk and repaint almost every year. Grrrrr.

I think it has a cozy feel, so you want it in smaller, human-scaled spaces, rather than trying to use in on a small portion of a soaring room. Leave the brick here alone for now (whitewash is your friend!) and look into the living spaces for beadboard applications.

HI -- I am not a fan of design themes and I hate bead board , but that's just me . Just do the smaller bead board in the bathroom , but do a wide board in the landing and maybe the laundry room to the 6 foot height . Just to make it more interesting .
