When I remove about 4' of the wall where the piano is to open up the kitchen, what should I do with the beams? If I keep them, one of them will have to be extended in the part where wall is removed. I will be taking out the spindles behind the couch. The ceiling is only 8 feet high. This is a 70s house. Across from the piano is the dining table. Across from the couch is the remainder of the den--total space of 17X 28. Thanks!
