I personally don't like green copper unless it on the Statue of Liberty but I may leave it until it starts to turn green.

Spectacular house. YES!!!! Keep the copper above the door. Yes, it will patina over time.

I agree with previous post. black would be very elegant and in keeping with the stately look of your beautiful home. The copper would then be "jewelry".

Thanks Miranda and Design Intervention. Looks like I'm hearing black is the way to go. Do you think every painted surface should be black??? I like the idea, but am a little fearful of it being to dark and heavy without some other color to break it up.

Since you have some really beautiful detailed moulding under your eaves etc, I would to a taupe/cream color on them. Please post pictures when you are done because your home is really a stunner!
