Need help picking siding/trim colors 50's yellow brick house

I am looking for help on picking colors for the siding, trim and front door. We are NOT painting the brick. The cream just makes the house feel so anemic so I painted the door aubergine. And notice there is a pink brick planter on the front of the house. I feel like if I do something darker on the siding the top of the house will feel too heavy. Any ideas?

Have you thought about an earthy green for the siding, darker green/gray trim and a red door?

HI -- Actually I would remove that pink planter --- it just looks wrong for the house -- an added after thought. Then just have some foundation plantings . Because the windows are so white you need to add more white for the house trims and paint the white gable the same color as the main house body color . Good color for the door !

I like Kari and lefty's suggestions. Remove the planter, find a nice green, sage perhaps to paint trim including the rain gutters. Paint your down spout the same as the house color to blend in. Except I would keep the gable siding white. And love the idea of a red door. You have a charming house.
