Hi, Mike(s) and Steve! Y'all have really beautiful trees. It's humbling. Steve, I can only hope to have trees that look that good one day.

Mike_01, yes, that's what it's supposed to do, stop crawlers from getting on your tree, the nursery recommended I go to a garden center and buy some. It's called tanglefoot. I don't know how well/if it works. I do know I never see it on any of anyone's pictures around here, which makes me question it. I've had a couple older, darker leaves get a little yellow at the very end on the bigger tree. Was that die back?

I am watering every day unless it rains, and fertilizing every other day with a weak solution like you told me. I'd love to know how to get the trees fuller, so when the time comes, by all means, let me know what to do!

Mike_02, you really have some gorgeous trees, as well! Is that the Deko you bought recently? Man, I wish I was half as gifted as you guys. I'm also glad your trees and your yard seem to have escaped the storm unscathed.

Y'all really have a true gift. Those trees are all so beautiful.

It's been pouring rain all day here. Again. Hoping for some sunshine tomorrow. It's starting to get old. Wishing you all a more auspicious weather.

Here's the Meyer Lemon tree I just picked up on sale from the local nursery. I tried to pick out the healthiest-looking one (since this is my first potted citrus and I'm scared silly of killing it) but I guess I got one with a trunk growing at an angle :( You can't really tell quite as much because when I re-potted it I tried to put the root ball in at a slight angle so that the stem would come out of the ground at a slight angle but would then hold the rest of the tree more perpendicular to the ground after its little bend (though now I'm wondering if that will somehow do it harm and if I should just adjust it and let it grow all slanty like I got it....) So yeah, absolutely no idea what I'm doing, but it's been in a pot since last Thursday night and it's not dead yet, so here's my June tree :) Oh, and this is it photographed from its "better" side... from the other side you see a lot more trunk and have a lot fewer branches and leaves coming out. I figure if I can get it to live long enough that will change. :)

btw, kudos to everyone else in this thread, it's encouraging (if somewhat humbling!) to see people have such success. I would love to one day have a thumb that green.

Don't get too jealous. We experts loose tree left and right and are plagued with problems. I'll sign on to that

Meyer lemon - had this tree for about a month. It lost half its leaves after I repotted and then didn't water frequently enough. I've been watering every other day now and the leaves look and feel a lot better (they felt brittle for a while but now they feel smooth and healthy). No new growth since I got it. I didn't know about the 5-1-1 mix at first, so when I moved it to the larger pot from the nursery pot I'd followed advice from a friend who's been gardening for years and used a mixture of leaf mulch and potting soil. I realize now this isn't the best soil for it and will probably repot again soon.

Thanks Atheen. Yes that Deko is new. I got it back in April. I think ill have to re pot it soon. Its been growing fast.

Thank you everyone for your very kind comments....It has not been easy to keep the growing in leaps and bounds around here, but at least they are healthy! I get an inch or so a month verses 6 or more like those im warmer climates...

MIke..Woww..I see such beauty in your trees. Some you have had for quite some time and they look as good as they always have).. That Fukishu makes me soooo jealous!! You should see the size on mine. You are amazing with your trees.

Sonya, good looking trees and I see great potential..JUst keep reading applyng the best soil basics and they will flourish like ours.

Andrew, not bad for new trees..I love how you planted it to give it a more upright position..Good job.

MIke, man that Fukishu!! I had to look again.

mike you are too kind. I just feed it well thats all. occasionaly it will get a water sprout and ill trim that but it really has turned into a nice bush. Add that to the fragrance and its one of my favorites.

So interesting to see all the trunks here. Some beautiful trees too.

Well, couple of years and one month later here are some of mine :)

First my mineola. I never really paid attention but this indeed added a lot of width since it joined my place.

    same tree

    Moro

and my Teresa trying to stand up again, She was almost laying horizontal. Trying with a stake to get her upright every couple of days a little bit more. Need to be trimmet too but one thing at a time.

Meyer was not as bad leaning but still needed to be helped. Trimmed her out a lot too to get some air in to hopefully win the fight against the scales before winter comes

I don't have pictures of all the trunks, per se, but I took a video of my container garden for my nephews, yesterday. The latest additions are the 2 Bonanza dwarf peach trees. I need to repot both of my lemon trees. The previously light and airy 511 is packed solid in their containers, right now. It's been a couple years, so they're overdue. I need to buy some bark.

    .

Have a great 4th of July, everyone. God Bless America.
