need help getting rid of aphids

I have a house plant that is dying with white spots and brown edges; has lost all leaves and stems from the lower parts of the plant.

A picture would help. It sounds pretty bad to me.

Aphids can do alot of damage. However they are also fairly easy to get rid of. Trying giving the plant a shower, literally take the plant and put it under the shower. Make sure that all parts of the plant get wet. You could also do this with a kitchen sprayer. It has to be hard enough it blast the aphids away, but not so hard it hurts the plant. You could also buy 3 in 1 (fungicide) garden spray. That will kill the aphids as well if you are having problems with soil fungus.
