Try calling a professional landscaper to terrace the area. It could be expensive, but probably less than a hospital stay, which you could be look at as is.

That is a steep slope. Eventually, you may want to install a terraced retaining wall. That will make it easier to maintain and help prevent erosion and stabilize your lot, etc. We had a similar lot once upon a time, and the terraced retaining walls were a great solution. Word of warning though, retaining walls can be pretty expensive.

As a temporary solution, I would consider (i) killing and removing the jungle that is there, (ii) stabilizing the area (maybe with something like jute matting), and (iii) planting a fast growing native ground cover.

Right now we don't have the extra money to do retaining walls. I think we will give the killing a try then get the jute. Thank you!
