Still having issues with photo uploads and pop-up message

I'm not going to post pics till I figure out why I keep getting message. I've posted on several sites , ie Firefox, Microsoft to see if they know why this has popped up as of yesterday. I even tried uploading using IE and still get the same message.

Houzz has no solution and this is the only forum I am getting the message. I just tried ATP and Facebook sites and it works fine so something changed either on this site or with my computer which I keep getting the pop-up.

I'll try to catch up on the posts this evening but trying first to research a solution for this sudden change. Hope your having a better day than I am. :(

I love working on the computer but this one has me stumped as to what is causing it. Microsoft is working with me to try to figure out why this suddenly started happening and only seems to be a problem with Houzz so far.
IE and Firefox both come up with the message so something is conflicting in the system with the picture loading software between my computer and Houzz.
I'm sure it will get resolved but may take some time. No pics unfortunately till resolved and I think we will hit peak bloom this week. :D

I'm missing your photos - especially when you at peak. Any progress on getting rid of the pop-up message?

I hope it gets figured out. I count on your pictures and critical eye.

Pretty sure Houzz is well-aware of on-going issues. It's frustrating. My only workaround is doing 1 photo per post/comment but that skews the system's metrics and I don't like how it looks like self-promotion in application.

I also don't want to upload to Houzz directly because I maintain copyright on all my images...not saying they are "stealing" them but when I see grey area I am careful before throwing something in to it...better so see if that pond is truly quicksand before even dipping your toe in, y'know?

    Cheers!

I had trouble posting pictures here until I resized my photos. It may be with the auto resizing program here. Try posting a smaller picture to see if that's the problem. Hope you find the solution.

So far no solution. It is only happening here on Houzz/Gardenweb. I did a test loading to ATP and all the pictures loaded with no problem but I didn't actually post to the group. I also posted many photos to my family on Facebook with no issues. Microsoft gave me a list of things to check and do and nothing changes and its happening with both Firefox and IE on the Houzz/Gardenweb site. Firefox support gave me suggestion on running several malware software programs and I did a couple of them with them all coming up with no issues. Windows 8.1 has the Defender built into the program and I also use McAfee and ran a full scan right after the issue came up with nothing showing as a virus. Very odd that it is only this site giving me the problem. I'm using the same size photos as before but I'll try reducing and see what happens. I'll try anything to see if it will work. Miss posting and we got to peak bloom over the dreadful hot, hot and humid weekend. I didn't set foot out the door on Sunday and looked like a sad puppy looking out the windows at the gardens LOL. BTW, Houzz support says its not their site causing the issue.

I hope you can figure it out, I really miss your postings. I do understand though, I haven't posted much at all this season. It usually just takes so long, although occasionally they work nicely.

:( I hope you'll figure it out soon, miss your pics too!

I tried the smaller pics like Ed suggested. Loaded first one and then when trying to load more it would start loading then disappear. :(. Can't even do drag and drop anymore.

Julia, do me a favor and turn your Windows Defender off while trying to post the pictures. It's normally not recommended to run two anti-virus programs at the same time btw. Most of the reports I have seen show McAfee superior to WD. Anyway, see if there's a conflict there.

Okay. Do you know typically where it will be listed? Program Files or somewhere else? Edit: Never mind, I found it and it is turned off already and McAfee is on.

    Sorry, I was watching Tut!

Guess that's not going to help then.

Julie: do you have the picture open with other software, such as your picture editing software? If so, close it in other software and try it. Good luck.

dick: No other program for photos is open. Thank you though for the suggestion. The photo icon when clicked immediately goes to my photo library on my computer where I choose which photo to load. Always has done this. The pop-up only happens on Houzz/GW so I would assume the protocol somehow changed. I know it has to do with the application/x-httpd-php in the pop-up message so hopefully an answer will be found before I upgrade to Windows 10.

I haven't upgraded yet. I want to see it before I do. I go back to punched-card days so I am always leery of upgrades. Windows 7 has been very stable and useful for me. It is amazing that no other reports of this problem have shown up.

dick: I just got another email today from Microsoft (I reserved to upgrade) which I am assuming they are getting ready for the rollout next week. Yes, very unusual that only Houzz/GW is a problem and other sites pose no problems. No new software which would have caused a conflict. It only started a week or so ago and I never had a problem before. I'm trying to upload my pics to Photobucket and see if I can just post a link to the album.
