Small change in kitchen has big impact for me!

The before picture is of our tiny kitchen from the real estate listing. We bought the place in May and I've been dying to do something with the crazy backsplash. We're hoping to renovate in a couple years to get a bigger kitchen. In the meantime, decided to tackle the backsplash. People think I got new stone tiles! But I used multi-surface craft paints and sponged layers of colors I mixed myself. The kitchen feels bigger and definitely brighter now.

Thanks guys! No, I didn't poly it. I thought about it though. But this paint said it has a strong bond after the 21 days of full curing (or 30 minutes of baking it in oven... which I obviously couldn't do). So we'll see!

Looks amazing! I'd like to see you switch out the outlet covers though so they blend in more for a cleaner look!

I much prefer what you did as I feel it was too busy before...I agree with TC that the electrical outlet covers just need to be changed or spray painted white. Good Job!

Yeah, I thought about doing something with the outlet covers, but I don't know what. Right now they are the same copper color as all the knobs and pulls in there.

The coloring in the after picture is a little off. The wall looks yellow, but it is actually the same whitish color as the before shot. We haven't painted the walls... Yet. Maybe that's something I should do.

What a relief! The after picture is so much easier on the eyes! I love it.

I believe that the outlet covers should be a match to the female plugs which look white...
