I bought an old dining set (l960's-70's) that is wood (no plastic) and the legs of all the chairs, and table have the stain and finish worn off about 2" up. My original intent was to tuse the Annie Sloan paint treatment, but I see some pretty bad experiences posted here in another thread. Has turned me right off AS paint. Can that much of the pieces be re-stained and refinished? Or should I be painting it as originally intended? Anyone know how to do a patch job on stain? This is for my basement, so not putting it in a formal dining room.
