Need help with clothes hamper hardware.

We had a custom cabinet built in our remodeled bath but i don't think they used the right hardware on the hamper. I'm stumped trying to buy some online - don't exactly know what I'm looking for. They used chains connected with screws but the chains break if the hamper is dropped open (young son isn't as gentle as required by this set up). What am I looking for? Thanks in advance!
